Main Startup Open Shift Scheduler Feature
When you first startup Give'em a Break, the Main Startup Open Shift Scheduler window is displayed. This window lists all of the shift schedulers in the Give'em a Break database. The Day Shift, Swing Shift and Graveyard Shift schedulers are permanent schedulers and cannot be deleted. Any Custom Shift schedulers that are created can be deleted. There is no limit to the amount of Custom Shift schedulers that can be created. To open a shift scheduler, select the shift and then click the Open button. Give'em a Break will then load up the shift scheduler from the database and display the scheduler in the main dashboard interface. If the selected shift scheduler is already open in another instance (Spawned) of Give'em a Break, a message will display informing you that the shift scheduler is already open and cannot be opened again. The Back button is disabled when first starting Give'em a Break because that button is only relevant and enabled when invoking the Open Shift Scheduler window within any shift scheduler that is already opened. The Remove all Schedulers from the Database checkbox is designed to clear all orphaned shift scheduler names from the database. Example: You have loaded the Day Shift Scheduler into the main dashboard interface. During the workday shift, the computer freezes and a reboot of the computer is required. Since the computer froze, Give'em a Break may not be able to successfully remove the Day shift scheduler name from the internal list of actively running schedulers when shutting itself down during the reboot process. If this is the situation, the Day shift scheduler name will remain in the internal list as an orphaned entry. Subsequently, you then startup Give'em a Break again and attempt to open the Day shift scheduler but Give'em a Break will display the message informing you that the Day shift scheduler is already open because the orphaned entry is still present in the internal list. To clear this situation, add a checkmark to the checkbox. Give'em a Break will then display a prompt informing you that all shift scheduler names in the internal list will be cleared. Select Yes to clear the internal list. Next, click the Open button again to successfully load the Day Shift Scheduler into the main dashboard interface.
