Quick Start Guide

 

Give'em a Break's features, benefits and capabilities offer a multitude of various employee break configurations and settings which are designed to support management when scheduling employee break operations throughout a workday shift. Please follow the Quick Start Guide outlined below to quickly understand and become familiar with adding employee names/job positions to the shift scheduler and then starting/ending employee breaks using Give'em a Break's Manual Tracking Mode feature. Preparation

1. Click on the the Windows Start button that is located on the desktop.

2. Navigate to the Business Logic Solutions folder on the Start Menu and click on the Give'em a Break 1.0 shortcut to startup Give'em a Break.

3. Select the Day Shift Scheduler and then click the Open button.

4. Within the textbox field that is located directly below the Employees list, enter the employee name of Employee A and then click the Add Employee button, Employee A ill now populate the Employees list.

5. Create and then add Employee B to the Employees list.

6. Next, click the Create button.

7. Add two new job positions named Host and Cashier.

8. Close the Job Position window.

9. Click on Employee A in the Employees list to highlight that employee.

10. Click the Please select... drop down arrow and select the Cashier job position.

11. Click on Employee B in the Employees list to highlight that employee.

12. Click the Please select... drop down arrow and select the Host job position.

13. Navigate to Tools on the menu then Options...

14. Within the Shift Hours feature, configure the Start Time and End Time settings and also activate the Sound Setting feature. Close the Options and Settings  window.

Manual Tracking Mode

1. Using your mouse, highlight both employees in the Employees list.

2. Set the First Break start time to 10:00AM. Set the Lunch Break start time to 12:00PM. Set the Last Break start time to 2:00PM.

3. Click the Please select... drop down arrow and select ON FIRST BREAK. Both employees will now start their First Break.

4. Click the Please select... drop down arrow and select END FIRST BREAK. Both employees will now end their First Break.

5. Perform steps 3 and 4 directly above for both of the employees Lunch Break and Last Break.

*In a real world workday shift, you would only start/end the employee breaks based of off the current time, the scheduled start time and the scheduled end time.
